Why Your Ads Aren’t Working and How to Fix Them

So many people are running ads but are not happy with the leads those ads are generating… Although there are a hundred variables in why you are not getting the leads you are expecting, I want to give you top three tactical things you can do to improve your results.

1. Spend more! Here me out. Before spending a dollar on your ads, you need to know your numbers. Learn what is the avg CPL and conversion rate of leads into a sale (CPA) in your industry, for the product. I know so many people don’t spend nearly enough on the ads to generate the volume of leads needed to get a sale or two, because they don’t know when they would see any kind of outcome.

2. Don’t go for the kill in your ads right away. This is a mistake so many make because they want to sale right away. Start by giving something first. This is your offer. Make something meaningful and give it away for free. A training, case study, solution to a problem etc. Get them to open up. Opening up happens when the guard is down. And guard comes down when there is no sales pressure. This builds trust.

3. Friction. If you make it too easy for people to become leads, you’ll end up with a lot of spam. Introduce friction by asking conditional questions. My fav first question reiterates the ad. “Did you click on the ad because you want the offer? Yes/No”. That brings in much higher intent leads.
